Graduate Research Assistant

Program: Physics

Carlos Andrés is a new Ph.D. student in physics and a research assistant at UTSA. In his undergraduate studies in Mexico, Carlos has learned the basics of physics and engineering and he’s been passionate about physics and science since he was a kid.

His research interests involve the application of experimental and computational physics in a wide range of fields, from acoustics to soft matter simulation. Carlos has worked on finite element modeling, Brownian dynamics simulation, liquid crystals simulations, and his future research will be focused on polymer simulations.

Carlos mostly spends his free time playing videogames and watching interesting stuff on YouTube, but he also enjoys hanging out with friends, model railroading, gardening, astronomy, 3D modeling, karate, and researching classical music and arts.
