The College of Engineering is pleased to announce that Dr. Mehdi Shadaram will be appointed Interim Chair of the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering beginning August 19, 2019.
Dr. Shadaram has served in multiple leadership positions in the College of Engineering including Chair of Electrical and Computer Engineering (2003-2007), Associate Dean of Undergraduate Programs in the COE (2007-2015), and Interim Dean of Engineering (2013-2014). He has served as the Founding Director of the Center for Excellence in Engineering Education (CEEE) since 2008, and has grown the Center to be the provider of Broader Impact components on a number of research grants for the College, with seven active grants totaling approximately $1 million, as of Spring 2019.
Dr. Shadaram has served as Principal Investigator or Co-Principal Investigator for numerous grants and contracts, bringing in more than $10 million in research funding over the past 20 years.
