UTSA ranks among nation’s top minority-serving institutions for federal science and engineering expenditures

The University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA) ranks No. 7 among the minority-serving institutions in the nation that received the most federal research obligations (expenditures) for science and engineering, according to updated data released by the National Science Foundation (NSF) for fiscal year 2015. In FY 2015, UTSA expended $23.3 million in federal funding

Foundation work underway for Science and Engineering Building

June, The University of Texas at San Antonio broke ground on its $95 million Science and Engineering Building (SEB), the largest construction project in university history. The building is slated to open in June 2020. The 153,000 square foot building, which will be located on the Main Campus adjacent to the Biotechnology, Sciences and Engineering

Dr. David Akopian, Associate Professor of Electrical Engineering, has been awarded a five-year grant totaling $275,000 from the National Institute of Health’s (NIH) Eunice Kennedy Shriver National Institute of Child Health and Human Development. This grant is being funded through The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio’s (UTHSCSA) $2.9 million collaborative grant
