Engineering Summer Camp for High School Students
Camp 1: June 11th to June 16th (Overnight) and June 12th to June 16th (Day camp)
Camp 2: June 18th to June 23rd (Overnight) and June 19th to June 23th (Day camp)
This exciting and interactive camp is designed for high school students and will allow for engineering design and problem solving approaches using out of the box thinking. The camp will have interactive workshops, hands-on challenges, tours, panels, and friendly competitions.
Each day the camp covers a major branch of engineering, i.e. electrical/computer engineering, civil engineering, mechanical engineering, chemical engineering and biomedical engineering. The main goal of the Engineering Summer Camp is to develop, grow, and maintain the engineering bridge program targeting Texas high school students entering civil, computer, biomedical, electrical, and mechanical engineering.
The program aims to increase the number of students graduating with a B.S. and entering the engineering workforce (or graduate school).
After completing of the program students will be able to:
- Appreciate and comprehend the characteristics of different engineering disciplines.
- Understand the requirements for admission to an engineering college and be able to select a proper major.
- Understand the required background needed to become a successful engineer.
All Day Camps are $250 and all Overnight Camps are $470. A $70 deposit is required to fully register. Any money owed must be paid before the camp starts.
Scholarships are available for eligible participants.
