June 6th - June 10th

This summer camp is hosted by UTSA’s mechanical engineering faculty and is sponsored/in partnership with the US Department of Energy and National Nuclear Security Administration. Our engineering faculty will teach students about: Additive Manufacturing, Robotics & Automation Simulation, and Industrial Sensing and Corrosion Control for Industry. Learn from our faculty, work in their labs, and get a great experience experience on the latest in engineering technology.

Summer Career Academy in Architecture & Interior Design

In-person session – June 7 – June 17 MTWThF

On-line session – July 5 – 28 Tuesdays & Thursdays

UTSA Summer Academy in Architecture and Interior Design offers two separate sessions (in-person and on-line) to introduce participants to the design careers and education of architects and interior designers. Taught by faculty of the Department of Architecture, the Summer Academy provides insight into the creative processes and professional practices of architecture and interior design. Participation in the program is intended to help high school students and others discover whether architecture or interior design is right for them. Previous design experience is not required. Curiosity is the only prerequisite.

Advanced Manufacturing and Engineering Systems Camp: Mechatronics and Artificial Intelligence

June 13 - June 17th
This summer camp is hosted by UTSA’s mechanical engineering faculty and will provide high school students the opportunity to learn about the manufacturing industry and current/future technology that is helping advance this field. Students will learn about machine learning, mechatronics, and manufacturing systems engineering. Students will also get the opportunity to view labs used to conduct research in these topic areas and participate in lab projects.

Engineering Overview Camp: (CAMP FULL)

June 20th - June 24th
In this camp, students will be introduced to several fields of engineering including- Mechanical, Biomedical, Civil, Electrical, and Computer. Students will explore each type of engineering through hands-on challenges, lab tours around campus, and engineering faculty presentations. Students will also leave with an understanding of UTSA Engineering programs and requirements.

Biomedical Engineering Camp: (CAMP FULL)

June 27 - July 1st
The Biomedical Engineering (BME) high school summer camp is a fantastic opportunity for high school students to get to know what BME is all about! During this camp organized in part by the UTSA Biomedical Engineering Society, students will get to learn real technical skills used by biomedical engineers, meet practicing engineers in both industry and academia, and learn about different biomedical engineering topics through organized biomaterials, cell biology, and biomechanics experiments. Come learn about one of the fastest-growing engineering fields in the country!

Introduction to Python Camp: (ONLINE ONLY)

June 27 - July 1st

This virtual summer camp combines the summer camp fun with online coding lessons for 6th-12th graders. This course is for students who already have a basic knowledge of python. Students can learn about working with data-sets from NASA using python. The students will be introduced to python packages and learn how to process, visualize and analyze scientific data. Our small group summer classes for programming enable students to pick up serious coding skills in Python! Classes are highly interactive, and taught by expert, friendly instructor/s.

Aeronautics and Robotics Camp:

July 11th - July 15th
This camp is presented by the UTSA Rocketry Club and Advanced Robotics Club. During this camp, students will learn about rocketry through hands-on activities, guest speakers, and lab tours! Students will also learn how to build and code robots throughout the week leading up to a competition at the end of the camp!
