Dr. Guenevere (Qian) Chen is an Assistant Professor with the\u00a0Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA). Before joining UTSA, Dr. Chen was an\u00a0Assistant Professor and Coordinator of the Computer Science Technology Program at Savannah State University. \u00a0She received her Ph.D. degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Mississippi State University in 2014.\u00a0Her\u00a0primary research area is autonomic computing and cyber security.\u00a0Dr. Chen’s\u00a0current research involves\u00a0autonomic security management for distributed systems, industrial control systems\u00a0(e.g., SCADA), high performance computing, and the Internet of Things (IoT) ecosystems (e.g., healthcare information systems, smart cities etc.).\u00a0Her research topics include risk assessment, attacks estimation, vulnerabilities investigation, intrusion detection and response and end-to-end security solution\u00a0development.\u00a0Her research projects were\u00a0funded by National Science Foundation, Department of Energy, Department of Homeland Security, Oak Ridge National Laboratory, Mississippi State University and Savannah State University. She is also passionate about\u00a0producing underrepresented cyber security workforce to\u00a0address the cyber security expertise shortage issues.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
