His recent book, The Architecture and Cities of Northern Mexico from Independence to Present (University of Texas Press, 2015), explores the undervalued architectural culture of Tamaulipas, Nuevo León, Coahuila, Chihuahua, Durango, Sonora, Sinaloa, and Baja California. His essays have also appeared in a number of books including: La metrópolis condensada: Juan José Sánchez Aedo, Grupo Arquitech, (Arquine, 2018), Reforma 27/Alberto Kalach (Arquine and Editorial RM, 2015), Arquitech/Juan José Sánchez Aedo: Intersecciones 2010-2011 (Arquine/Editorial RM, 2012), Landa García Landa Arquitectos, Monterrey, México (Arquine /Editorial RM, 2006), Cruelty and Utopia: Cities and Landscapes of Latin America (Princeton Architectural Press, 2005); as well as leading journals including, “El Croquis” (Spain), “Arquine” (Mexico), “Artes de México” (Mexico), “A+U” (Japan), “Perspecta: The Yale Architecture Journal” (USA), and “Praxis Journal” (USA), among others. His publications have been cited and referenced over 350 times, widely disseminated in over 375 libraries worldwide, and used as texts in leading universities in the U.S., Latin America, and Europe.

He has taught at several schools of architecture in the American Southwest, and was invited as a visiting professor in Mexico at the UDEM and ITESM in Monterrey, NL and the UNAM in Mexico City. A native of Los Angeles, CA, he received his Bachelors of Science in Architecture from the University of Southern California and his Masters of Architecture from Yale.
