The overall goal of UTSA’s project is to develop new methods of instruction and associated curricular change that focuses on the intersection of academic literacy and content competencies, through evidence-based teaching approaches. We outlined the three major components of the project: Lesson study with STEM faculty, enhanced student mentoring, and professional development experiences.
We further present preliminary data on Lesson Study with STEM faculty and highlight some professional development experiences as well as outline plans for peer mentoring to begin in year 2.
