Welcome to the Safety Innovation and Sustainable Infrastructure (SI)2 Lab!

Members of the U.S. construction industry and other high-risk industrial sectors continue to experience an increased number of injuries, illnesses, and fatalities. Additionally, the aging or decaying infrastructure is taking a toll on America. The Safety Innovation and Sustainable Infrastructure research laboratory aims to 1) create cross-disciplinary solutions to improve safety performance and infrastructure sustainability by leveraging innovation, technology, and automation, and 2) provide research environments that foster exposure of students with various experiences and levels of academia to innovation research with different organizations through research, teaching, and service.
