Dr. Wei-Ming Lin is currently a professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA). Dr. Lin received the BS degree in Electrical Engineering from National Taiwan University, Taipei, Taiwan, in 1982, the M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Electrical Engineering from the University of Southern California, Los Angeles, in 1986 and 1991, respectively. He also served as the Associate Dean for Graduate Studies for the College of Engineering at UTSA from 2006 to 2015. Dr. Lin’s research interests are in the areas of distributed and parallel computing, computer architecture, computer networks, autonomous control and internet security. He has published over 100 technical papers in various conference proceedings and journals. He has served in program committee for many international conferences and also as the Program Chair for the International Conference on Computer Applications in Industry and Engineering 2004. Dr. Lin’s past and on-going research has been supported by NSF, DOD, ONR, AFOSR, etc. As the Associate Dean for the college, he also coordinated the development of four new graduate programs at UTSA: M.S. in Advanced Manufacturing and Enterprise Engineering, Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering, Master in Civil Engineering, and M.S. in Advanced Materials Engineering.
