Welcome to the Mechanics of Biological Materials/Structures Lab (MBMS)
The Mechanics of Biological Materials/Structures (MBMS) Lab focuses on research and training of students in the area of structural-mechanical behavior relationship of biological materials/structures at all length scales and from the molecular to bulk levels. Based on the understanding, we intend to develop effective strategies for fracture prediction and prevention of the tissues (such as bone) in clinical applications, and to extend the principles of the natural design of biological materials/structures to the engineering applications.
