> Recipients of    College Faculty Award in Service,2015;    Best Poster Paper Award of the 3rd IFAC ICONS, 2013; 3rd Best Paper Award of the 53rd ISA POWID Symposium, 2011; Regents’ Outstanding Teaching Award, the University of Texas System, 2009; NSF CAREER Award, U.S. National Science Foundation, 2003.

> Author or co-author of more than 170 technical papers with H-index of 33 (08/2016).

> Editorships: Associate Editor of Automatica Journal, Subject Editor of International Journal of Robust and Nonlinear Control, Wiley.

Minority Student Recruitment and Mentoring

Active recruitment and mentoring of minority students is an important component of teaching and education. With an increasing percentage of the US population of minority background, it is important to encourage, recruit and mentor minority students. As a result, I have made it a priority to recruit and develop minority students (refer to CV for details).
