The UTSA College of Engineering (COE) is pleased to announce Dr. David Akopian’s title has been changed to Associate Dean of Inclusive and Research Excellence. This change reflects UTSA’s continuous mission to provide inclusive excellence in all aspects of our work and service to our academic communities. As Associate Dean of Inclusive and Research Excellence, Dr. Akopian will seek to provide perspectives of inclusion in our research, teaching, and service activities, and came as a recommendation of the COE Diversity and Inclusion Committee (COE-DIAC).
“The committee is working within the college to jointly promote research excellence, diversity, and inclusion within UTSA’s expanding community. This change will enhance UTSA’s reputation nationwide, improve our research outcomes, and benefit the College of Engineering into the future,” says Dr. Brian Kelley, Associate Professor and Chair of the College of Engineering Diversity and Inclusion Committee.
The COE Diversity and Inclusion Committee was created to advocate for equality and inclusion of all students, faculty, staff, and university guests on the UTSA campus.
