The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at The University of Texas, San Antonio (UTSA) invites applications for two tenure-track/tenured level position starting Fall 2018 at the Assistant or Associate ranks.
Position 1:
Machine Learning and Data Analytics. Areas of particular interest are machine learning and data analytic algorithms, supporting infrastructure and software, applications, data-driven decision making, visualization and communication, big data technology, real-time analytics, learning methods including deep learning. Position 2:
Machine Learning and Its Applications. Outstanding candidates from all research areas of machine learning will be considered, but preference will be given to candidates with primary research interest in machine learning for autonomous systems, medical/health informatics, and IoTs, including (but not limited to) reasoning and decision making, and reinforcement learning. Duties include teaching, research, and service. By the time of hire, candidates must have a Ph.D. degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering, Computer Science or related areas with outstanding academic credentials that clearly demonstrate their ability to conduct independent and successful research in their areas of expertise and to build cross-disciplinary research programs. Candidates must have excellent communications skills with a commitment to engage in a high quality undergraduate and graduate education in areas of computer engineering. Responsibilities for the position include research, teaching at the graduate and undergraduate levels, and program development. Applicants who are selected for interviews must be able to show proof that they are eligible and qualified to work in the United States by the time of hire.
